Associate Manager, Planning & Analysis - Emerging Markets (hybrid)

The Emerging Markets Regional finance team reports through the International CFO and provides financial and strategic support partnering with the regional business leaders and country operations across 12 markets – Latam: Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Peru; Asia: China, Indonesia, India; and Africa – Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.

The Regional Finance team is responsible for financial planning and analysis functions, business development, management reporting, capital, and strategic planning across Emerging Markets.   

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

Team responsibilities include:

Financial management oversight to the region including business drivers, capital management, and financial planning & analysisPartnering with country and regional business leaders on strategic initiatives including distribution channels, new lines of business, product strategy, competitive analysisProviding strategic input and advice to the country CFOs on decisions regarding capital structure, product design, profitability metrics, and talent managementAssist financial workstreams for M&A activity and other strategic initiatives within the region Continuing to build Global Finance Community by fostering collaboration, identifying training and mobility opportunities, and sharing best practices across geographiesAdvisor to the countries on PII / Corporate governance and effectively partner with Newark and Regional teams.Team is co-located in the US and Singapore.
 

Main responsibilities include: 

Analyze trends in the international businesses (pension and insurance markets), specifically in Latin America, and produce detailed insightful analytics, from proprietary and public information, for senior management, highlighting key changes and actionable insights.Lead the strategic and financial business planning for the Latin America operations, including business forecast and insightful analysis, including quarterly business reviews with country and regional leadership.Proactively identify opportunities to optimize processes and develop innovative approaches to assess the health of the businesses in each region.Lead / support the diligence and assessment of opportunities across the region from a strategic, capital, and profitability perspective. Ensure alignment between initiatives and financial planning for the region, including a framework for measuring and monitoring projects.  Lead the process of producing major stakeholders’ deliverables (including CFO, regional leaders), including portfolio level presentations for senior managementOpportunity to influence in-country Finance local teams through partnering and ability to work in multi-functional projectsDevelop detailed budget and forecast models to drive high quality decision-making and closely monitor business performanceCollaboration with key internal stakeholders including regional leadership, Actuarial, Portfolio Management, Tax, Treasurers, and other internal teamsTurning data into meaningful insights and transformative solutions and move stakeholders to action with plans to execute our recommendationsContinue to develop business narrative for region by proactively partnering with local finance teams to integrate strategic and financial outcomes – including enhanced analysis around capabilities investments (digital, wellness and product).  Opportunity to support strategic initiatives and M&A, including due diligence and/or integration, development of investment thesis on potential growth opportunities, financial statement modeling, synergy analysis, business/corporate development strategies, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analytics, or economics preferred.MBA, CFA and/or CPA a plus3 to 5 years of experience with a focus preferably on: Financial planning & analysis / insurance and retirement industries / emerging markets / capital management / corporate development and strategy / management consulting.Strong aptitude for proactive problem solving.Proven analytical capabilities, including the ability to develop deep insights and deliver resulting messages to leaders to inform decisions.Proficiency in project management, prioritization, and time management / ability to meet deadlines.Ability to partner effectively with all levels including business unit senior managementAbility to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment and communicate issues in a clear, succinct manner to peers and senior executivesExcellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skillsAdvanced Financial Modeling, Excel, and Power Point skills, Power BI skillsFluent in Spanish and Portuguese a plusMinimal travel expected

The salary range for this role is from $90,100.00 to $134,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
