Associate Manager or Manager Loss Reserve

As an associate manager or manager loss reserve on the Corporate Actuary team, you'll maintains controls over $5.5 Billion of Loss and LAE reserves, complete reserve reviews, develops your direct reports, and directs the training of actuarial analysts. You'll have responsibility for Auto states (IL,IN,MI,MN,CA Agency, WI, etc.) plusSpecial Lines and some countrywide reviews. You'll use your actuarial expertise to solve new and unique problems as well as leads initiatives to improve or develop models, processes and methodology. You'll manage a team of 4 or more analysts so they complete reserve reviews in a timely and accurate manner (completing reserve reviews includes, but is not limited to: accurately downloading and uploading data; making reasonable judgments and recommendations; adequately documenting reviews; applying loss reserving concepts and efficiently utilizing Progressive resources/tools).

Remote work allowed.

Must-have qualifications

A minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience.{OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or Finance and a minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience.

Preferred skills

Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designationExperience leading a team of actuarial analysts including coaching and mentoringIntermediate to advanced coding skills (SQL, Power Query, R or Python)Excellent communication skills including visualization of quantitative information for non-technical audiences

Compensation

$87,200 - $160,400/year depending on position levelGainshare bonus up to 30%-40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance and position level.
