Job Overview:

The Associate Merchandise Financial Planner will partner with their Merchandise Financial Planner, Inventory planner, and Category Director to develop merchandise plans for growth and profitability that align to the overall corporate and merchandising strategies. Associate Merchandise Financial Planners are responsible for analyzing, identifying, and communicating sales opportunities and providing risk-mitigating recommendations. 

Responsibilities:

Evaluate business performance on a weekly basis and assist with the development and implementation of action plans that align with strategic priorities. Partner and support the Merchandise Financial Planner Develop seasonal plans that maximize financial performance and inventory turnover. Maintain weekly forecasts for sales, margin, inventory, and receipts. Ensure Inventory Planners and Category Directors are aware of OTB positions before committing to buys. Integrate merchandising strategies / initiatives into plans and forecasts.

Core Skills, and Abilities:

This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Associate Merchandise Financial Planners interact with levels throughout the organization and must be able to communicate accurately and effectively.  Must be very detail oriented and have the ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems and ensure all information is accurate. Merchandise Financial Planners must be able to synthesize and communicate business insights based on data analysis. Associate Merchandise Financial Planners need to be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and must be able to prioritize their workload. Must be proactive in completing tasks and eager to learn. Associate Merchandise Financial Planners are accountable for achieving the sales, margin, and inventory targets for their business. Must be willing to try, learn, apply, and innovate. Create new ways to drive business leveraging technology and strategy.

Qualifications: 

Minimum bachelor’s degree or College Certificate or Diploma in business management or related field Inventory management and ability to operate a computerized inventory system High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Knowledge of Retail Math concepts Flexible and adaptable to changing environment
