Associate Microbiologist- 2nd Shift Weekend
Job Title: Associate Microbiologist
Job Description

Responsible for performing routine microbiological testing of raw materials, bulk products, and finished products per customer-supplied or compendial test methods.

ResponsibilitiesPerform routine laboratory tasks based on current standard operating procedures.Maintain neat and accurate documentation in logbooks, assay reports, and protocols in compliance with current GMP requirements.Prepare and sterilize media.Perform growth promotion and sterility testing of media prepared and purchased, including quantification and evaluation.Perform swab sampling on sanitized equipment.Conduct viable environmental sampling of facilities.Maintain inventory of lab supplies.Safely handle viable pathogenic bacteria strains, including Gram staining and identification.Understand and apply proper aseptic techniques and processes.Essential SkillsProficiency in microbiology and aseptic techniques.Knowledge of GMP requirements.Experience with biology and environmental monitoring.Experience in microbiology laboratory tasks including plating, media preparation, and sterility testing.Ability to perform microbial identification and growth promotion tests.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS in Microbiology, Biology, or Biochemistry.1+ years of experience in a microbiology lab.Familiarity with microbiological analysis using USP 60, 61, 62.Experience with media preparation, growth promotion, and sterility testing.Proficiency in specific microorganism identification and system suitability.Experience with LIMS, data review, and GDP.Skills in environmental monitoring and trend analysis.Work Environment

The work environment involves routine laboratory tasks requiring adherence to GMP and aseptic techniques. The role includes handling viable pathogenic bacteria strains and conducting environmental monitoring. A professional lab setting with a focus on maintaining inventory, proper documentation, and safe practices is expected.
