Associate Microbiologist
Job Title: Microbiology Associate Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microbiology Associate to join our team. This role involves the review of routine testing, certificates of analysis, and other laboratory data. You will be responsible for investigating out of specification or trend results, conducting deviation investigations, and performing both routine and non-routine testing to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in microbiology and experience in laboratory settings. Responsibilities + Review routine testing, certificates of analysis, and other laboratory data. + Investigate out of specification (OOS) or trend results. + Conduct deviation investigations. + Perform routine testing as needed to meet business needs. + Conduct analysis on product/material samples for non-routine assignments. + Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data. + Recognize malfunctions in laboratory equipment and notify management. + Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices under Good Documentation Practices (GDP). + Perform product releases. + Interview analysts performing testing to conduct root cause analysis and deep dive into testing data to identify issues. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related science. + Experience in microbiology, GMP, USP testing, bioburden, LAL, aseptic technique, autoclave, root cause analysis, and product releases. + Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP). + Experience with medical devices, pharmaceutical products, and endotoxin testing. + At least 3 years of experience in QC and/or R&D microbiology laboratory within the Life Sciences Industry preferred. + Proficiency in LIMS and Microsoft Office. + Knowledge of R&D and/or QC Microbiology compendial test methods. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with testing antimicrobial products/materials. + Experience with deviations and data review. + Ability to perform gap analysis. Work Environment You will be working in a brand-new, state-of-the-art laboratory facility. The microbiology team consists of approximately 25 members and works closely with the R&D and Chemistry labs. This role is primarily computer-based, with a cubicle desk located in an office above the lab. The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The environment is very clean and conducive to high-quality laboratory work. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
