Job Responsibilities

Responsible as a technical lead in the area of reactor engineering. Provides technical direction during routine and on-call evolutions.  
• Responsible for assessing, improving, and implementing reactor engineering procedures and processes which include the following responsibilities:
• Conduct Reactor Engineering functions to include: start-up and at-power testing, reactivity maneuvers, monitoring reactor core performance, refueling activities. 
• Implement the Special Nuclear Material control program by performing periodic audits and planning movement of material.
• Perform refueling activities including verification of core loading and visual inspection of assemblies. 
• Act as owner for the spent fuel pool Boral Aging Management Program.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain computer programs used for core monitoring, dry cask storage fuel selection, and core flux mapping.
• Perform fuel reliability calculations.
• Operate and maintain system health of the incore flux mapping system.
• Support Emergency Response Organization as an on-call duty responder position.
• Support refueling and maintenance outages as required.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's of Science in Nuclear Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering or Operations.
• Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges. 
• Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.
• Must meet US Dept of Energy requirements for access to nuclear technology information under 10 CFR 810.


Desired:

• Masters Degree
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interface on teams where different styles, approaches and strategies are used to identify and resolve issues.
• Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
