Associate Operations Cybersecurity Analyst

This position will support the Nuclear Cybersecurity program for nuclear plant operational and security assets. The Plant Engineering organization provide direct service and support to Oconee Nuclear Station. This work will ensure compliance with the Duke Energy Nuclear Cybersecurity requirements. This includes response to cybersecurity threats and events as well as implementation of the Nuclear Cybersecurity program. The Nuclear Cybersecurity program includes all infrastructure asset security including but not limited to firewalls, endpoint protection, and digital process systems (DPS.) The work includes hands on activities such as patching, antivirus protections, account management, cyber asset inventory, and security baselines.The associate analyst is responsible for day-to-day activities in support of the Nuclear Cybersecurity program and policies. This may include maintenance (patching and upgrades), support of new installations (engineering changes), response to identified threats and vulnerabilities, and other items, as directed. The associate analyst will perform work to support overall nuclear plant operation and security based on implementation of the applicable Nuclear Cybersecurity program. The associate analyst will also contribute to ongoing development and improvement of the Nuclear Cybersecurity Program intended to maintain a strong security posture. This may include revision of program documentation as well as participation in design and implementation of projects that impact security.This position requires understanding of the integrated generating plant systems as well as processes to secure plant cyber assets. The analyst shall demonstrate an understanding of the impact of Nuclear Cybersecurity processes on generating systems and the security system. Responsibilities + Perform day-to-day activities in support of Nuclear Cybersecurity program and policies. This may include maintenance (patching/upgrade), support of new installations or upgrades, and other items as directed. + Assess and respond to complex digital process system (DPS) cyber security events and incidents + Assist in development and revision of the ongoing strategy of the Nuclear Cyber Security Program Required/Basic Qualifications + Associates degree in Engineering or + Associates degree in Computer Science or + Associates degree + In lieu of Associates degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 2 year(s) related work experience Desired Qualifications + In addition to desired degree, 2 years related work experience Additional Preferred Qualifications + Working knowledge of Nuclear Cyber Security Policies + Experience or working knowledge of network architecture and firewall security + Ability to troubleshoot network switches and routers on nuclear power generation station DPS and data networks. + Previous nuclear station work experience. + Demonstrated experience supporting Nuclear Plant Security Computer System. + Demonstrated experience testing and patching for cyber security threats and vulnerabilities. + Demonstrated experience executing the nuclear work control processes. + Qualified to or ability to obtain CO-FLT-ENG-8010 Digital Engineering Activities + Qualified to or ability to obtain CO-FLT-ENG-8020 Cyber Security Specialist + Ability to work as part of a team, be a self-starter, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned accountabilities. + Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work. Working Conditions + Typically, an office environment with some work in the plant to conduct system walkdowns and field support of modification implementation. + Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility. Specific Requirements + Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access. + Willingness to work extended hours with changes in work schedule whenever necessary which at times could include call outs to support stations in an emergent condition. + This position may be required to have Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities which could include callouts with a defined response time to the site and an on-call duty rotation requiring the employee to be Fit for Duty. + Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.) as needed. + Occasional overnight travel.
