PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $44.09-$53.89 hourly. The full Pay Range is $34.24-$63.75 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE: 

At BECU, your technical expertise and proactive approach will play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational ecosystem. As an Associate Operations Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in configuring, maintaining, and supporting the systems that keep our business moving forward—both for our members and our internal teams. In addition, the Associate Operations Engineer is also responsible for supporting products and services hosted on-premises and in the cloud. This role opens doors to professional growth and a collaborative future with BECU’s dynamic technology teams. 

** This is a hybrid role and will require you to be in the office (Tukwila Financial Center location) on an occasional as needed basis to support data center technologies, vendor visits, etc. ** 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

System Monitoring - Regularly monitor system performance and respond to alerts within SLA. 

Troubleshooting - Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and application issues. 

Uphold Compliance Standards: Drive excellence by following BECU’s competencies and upholding compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements. 

Engage in Continuous Learning: Participate in conferences, training, and communities of practice to stay aligned with industry and organizational advancements. 

Optimize Product Health: Monitor and document product telemetry, analyze data for insights, and apply improvements to ensure peak product health and operational efficiency. 

Maintain Documentation Clarity: Keep architecture and process documentation up to date and articulate high-level operations of products and services clearly to others. 

Automate with Precision: Use scripting and automation tools to manage and streamline essential services, enhancing process efficiencies. 

Deliver Impactful Solutions: Contribute directly to team success by creating solutions that align with customer and business needs and require minimal rework. 

Collaborate with Purpose: Partner with team members to implement best practices for software and systems, using your expertise to meet specific requirements. 

Mitigate Risks: Address system vulnerabilities and assigned risks proactively, ensuring configurations align with security priorities. 

Take On Diverse Tasks: Embrace additional responsibilities as assigned, adapting to team and organizational needs. 

On-call support rotations to provide 24 x 7 coverage will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Associate degree in related field or equivalent related experience 

2 years of related functional experience in a technical support role  

Experience in Infrastructure Services: Enterprise Maintenance and Support, Infrastructure Support and Server Operating Systems. 

Experience in configuring and maintaining production systems in a team environment.  

Desired Qualifications: 

Related functional experience in a Financial industry.

Experience in one or more of the following disciplines required: Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Infrastructure Services: Enterprise Maintenance and Support, Infrastructure Support, Data Center Components. 

Experience supporting critical business applications both member and employee facing. 

Technical focus in two or more of the following disciplines preferred: Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS, SaaS, Hypervisor, Enterprise SANs, Backups, Operating Systems, Hardware Solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code, or other modern enterprise infrastructure system. 

Any certification in Microsoft and/or competing Cloud Technologies
