The Associate Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safety, accuracy and efficiency at the Distribution Center. This role monitors work queue and engages a team of supervisors responsible for specific areas of the building to uphold the building commitments in order processing. The individual in this role must respond quickly to changing workflow conditions and contribute positively to the success of the Distribution Center. The Associate Operations Manager resolves issues, addresses safety concerns, and is responsible for communicating business objectives and daily workload plans to the team of supervisors across multiple shifts.
Job duties:
Lead with a sense of urgency, develop and motivate DC team by assigning work, setting completion dates, reviewing work, and managing performance in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Review productivity and quality reports to ensure department is meeting pre-established targets and take necessary steps when targets are not being met. Achieve or exceed desired production goals aligned with Financial Plan. Coordinate efforts with Inventory Management and Merchandise Planners to ensure freight is getting to the right place at the right time. Establish an environment of teamwork, Team Member involvement/empowerment, fairness, and consistency. Recommend measures to improve production methods, working conditions, and increased efficiencies. Conducts regular meetings to ensure that Team Members are well informed of policies and procedures. Support Inventory Management and aid in research related to inventory improvement opportunities. Develop and implement best in class safety performance, awareness, and personal accountability in the distribution center. Monitor and ensure that all facility equipment is working properly and meeting production standards. Support staffing by conducting candidate interviews and training as necessary. Conduct performance reviews, coach and train direct Team Members.Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required. 3-5 years operations experience in a lead/supervisor/management role is required 3-5 years logistics industry experience preferred. Staff management, workload planning, objective setting and organizational skills, required.
