Posting Number ACAD469 Job Title Associate or Assistant Professor (Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Position Title Associate or Assistant Professor (Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Position Type Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Commensurate with experience Department Psychiatry Position Summary The Department of Psychiatry at Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor level social worker with a sub-specialty training in forensic social work. this position includes forensic mental health evaluations, social re-entry planning, therapy and case management service provision. The successful candidate should be community orientated and comfortable with working with culturally diverse patient population. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has experience providing evidence based counseling and behavioral health assessment services to patients within a clinical setting.
The LCSW will provide assessment, treatment, and counseling to a broad range of individuals. The candidate must be able to collaborate with others, both internally and with external partners including other Institutions of Higher Education. Treatment provided must be evidence based and in accordance with best practices and the individual’s scope of practice with adherence to strong professional ethics and boundaries. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must quality for a faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Reports to: Department Chairperson Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work LMSW, must be LCSW eligible Current Clinical Social Work Licensure in Georgia Experience writing forensic mental health reports and performing risk assessments. Serve as a resource for patients and families and will facilitate communication between the patient and other healthcare team members. Effective collaboration with community resources to formulate and deliver a comprehensive multi-disciplinary treatment plan is expected to ensure that treatment goals are met and barriers to care are identified and addressed
Participate in a team management approach to patient care/treatment; works with other team members to develop and implement behavioral health plan
Maintain quality care and participate in peer review, policy development, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Maintain patient charts and clinical EMR documentation in timely manner as required.
Participate in continuing education and professional development
