DescriptionWe are looking for an Associate or Software Engineer that enjoys collaborating with teammates solving challenging problems every day. Our team is responsible for developing innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of our customers within the Coverage Determination software product. We are currently seeking a Java Engineer with expertise in microservice API development using Spring Boot to join our team. Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing and implementing changes in a Java application leveraging the Spring Boot framework with a focus on rules development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust and scalable solutions. In addition to technical expertise, you will need strong interpersonal skills and a data-driven mindset to collaborate effectively and make informed decisions.

Develop high-quality Java APIsCollaborate with product owners, stakeholders, architects and other team members to build scalable and performant systems that meet our business needs.Translate business rules into executable code, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement appropriate solutions.Contribute to the overall system design and architecture to ensure scalability and maintainability.Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality code standards.Ensure code quality by thoroughly testing your code with a shift left mentality.Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and incorporate them into development processes.Drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of innovation within the team.Mentor more junior engineers on the team Qualifications A minimum of 2 years of software engineering experienceProficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services design and developmentA background in business operations and strategies, with a focus on business ITA history of translating client requirements into technical designsAgile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindsetCollaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development teamStrong oral and written communication skills - and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineersA thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts and layered solutions and designsAn understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and an ability to explain your decision-making process to non-engineersA bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experienceWhat will set you apart for this role:
