Assemble, disassemble, rework, and repair varying Solar Turbine gas compressor models and subassemblies in support of customer needs. Perform necessary job functions to facilitate the needs of the gas compressor business unit.

With a total population of more than 4,500 gas compressors installed worldwide and a wealth of experience gained while restaging 2,700+ compressors, Solar is uniquely positioned to offer these services. Responsibilities:
Utilizing special tooling to disassemble & reassemble multiple gas compressor models.
Operating hand, pneumatic, and battery powered tools.
Cleaning components in wash bay & blast cabinet.
Measuring critical dimensions using micrometers, calipers, depth mics, etc…
Operating overhead cranes & fork-lifts to move heavy equipment.
Using BOM, assembly planning, engineered drawings.
Inputting the compressor build data into the Power Apps computer system.
Organize, maintain, and coordinate logistics for compressor tooling going to customer sites.
Commitment to safety awareness & attention to potential hazards.
Able to learn quickly and retain knowledge across multiple compressor models.
Committed to working in a team environment & maintaining a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
Repair/overhaul experience of centrifugal gas compressors or other turbomachinery.
Experience with precision measuring equipment
Familiarity/experience with dynamic balancing activities related to compressor rotors.
Previous experience in O&G operations and/or strong mechanical background.
Must be dependable and willing to work overtime and weekends.
Comfortable with working in a dynamic & frequently shifting environment.
Must have a Diploma/or equivalent
This position is covering 2nd shift. A shift premium is applicable for 2nd shift.
