The role involves leading a team that supports the delivery of BEPS 2.0 projects across ASEAN, accelerating go-to-market engagement, and fostering strong collaboration across service lines and markets. You will develop and grow a world-class team to drive technical excellence and innovation and leverage best practices across ASEAN while working together with local teams to bring the best of EY to clients.
The opportunity
Lead your team to further strengthen the EY brand as a market leader in BEPS 2.0 through collaboration and teaming across ASEAN.
Responsibilities
Drive the strategy in achieving operational and technical excellence to support regional teams on winning and delivery of BEPS 2.0 engagements. Build and lead a dedicated multi-disciplinary team with deep technical expertise in BEPS 2.0. Enhance the knowledge management system. Evaluate and drive the adoption of best practices. Elevate the EY brand for BEPS 2.0. Develop in-depth knowledge of the legislative process and implementation of BEPS 2.0 across the ASEAN region. Develop a knowledge center for in-depth research into how BEPS 2.0 might impact businesses, transactions, specific sectors and treaty application. Be knowledgeable in identifying and assessing the tax risks associated with BEPS 2.0 and develop risk management and dispute resolution strategies.
Skills and attributes for success
Proven track record with clients and experience in building and leading a team in delivering expertise across the region. A keen interest in exploring upcoming and new technologies to steer business opportunities to a differentiated benchmark. Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders. Negotiation skills for representing clients in discussions with tax authorities and in resolving tax disputes. Strong project management skills in leading large-scale tax projects, including coordinating with other advisors, managing timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet client expectations. Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of tax professionals. Commitment to mentoring and developing talent within the team, including providing technical training and career guidance. Ability to identify new business opportunities and develop proposals that address the unique needs of potential clients. A global mindset, with an understanding of the business and cultural practices in different regions. Experience working with multinational companies and addressing the challenges they face in various jurisdictions. Ability to quickly adapt to new tax laws, regulations, and guidance as they pertain to BEPS 2.0.
