The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 5:30PM. Supervisor will determine schedule.
Location: 2610 Tenderfoot, Colorado Springs, CO
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure all patients and guests feel comfortable and welcomed Inbound and outbound calls Accurately obtain and enter information in a timely manner and according to standards in appropriate systems APM – demographic and insurance information, insurance eligibility, posting of collected payments and arrival of each patient Established and new patients, newborns, visitors, nursing home and hospital patients When appropriate schedule walk-in patients and return follow-up appointments Allscripts – Pharmacy information, phone call back consent form, Task Bucket items, i.e., sample medications, written prescriptions, forms, etc. and indicate the patient is “nurse ready”, including patients returning from lab and radiology Scan pertinent documents into administrative file Perform eligibility checks as required Monitor waiting area, screen, and distinguish emergencies or STAT situations, notifying back-office personnel and/or physician as necessary Process copayments, deductibles, payments on account through “end of day” batch reports. Prepare the deposit to send to Administration Answer questions about the organization and provide other information Receive, sort and route mail, including publications, to appropriate personnel. Accept and sign for all types of deliveries Share in the maintenance of office machines (copier, printer, fax, credit card), assist users, send faxes, and make copies when requested Check out patients - Coordinate the Provider’s post-visit care plan with the patient, schedule follow up appointments, specialist appointments, ancillary appointment and procedural appointments prior to the patient leaving the clinic Review educational and resource information with the patient, distribute hand-outs and appointment cards to the patient Print all referrals and provide patients with contact information to schedule Complete standard check out form Perform all other job duties as directed by the supervisor and/or managerYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 2+ years of customer service experience in a medical/healthcare setting Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Knowledge of medical terminologySoft Skills:
Problem solver, detail oriented, reliable, and a self-starter Adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure Accurately and appropriately document messages in a medical record Written and verbal communication skillsColorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour.
