Associate Patient Services Specialist

Performs all registration functions for patients. This includes collecting accurate demographic information, verifying insurance benefits and eligibility, obtaining authorization/pre-certification for services provided, and collecting patient liability prior to or at the time of service. Greets and serves patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote sacred encounters. Performs duties under moderate supervision.

Required Qualifications:

Coursework/Training Completion of a medical terminology class. Or equivalent educ/experience.   ROP, Or  2 years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding. Coursework/Training Successful completion of the Patient Access Training modules within 90 days of obtaining position. 1 year Experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clerical experience in a medical setting.
