What this job involves:
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and join our growing Planning team in London! JLL is a leading global real estate company with over 40 town planning specialists in five locations across the UK. We act for a number of high profile clients including some of the UK’s major land owners, developers and occupiers. We work across various sectors including:
industrial and logistics;residential (including Build to Rent, student accommodation and later living);development and regeneration (including commercial, city centre development, the public sector); andalternative development.As such, in this role, you will have exposure to an extensive breadth of planning work. What your day-to-day will look like:
Preparing planning appraisals to establish the development potential of sitesUndertaking independent planning policy and planning history and other researchLiaising and negotiating with planning officers, consultant teams and consulteesUndertaking site visits and attending client meetingsProviding assistance in the promotion of strategic development sitesPreparing and submitting pre-application enquiriesPreparing planning applications including the drafting of Planning Statements and reviewing and commenting on other consultants’ inputsSupporting senior colleagues to progress projects from inception to completionEngaging with a wide range of stakeholders involved in the planning processMaintaining an awareness of market conditions and the impact of government policies
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
A chartered town planner (Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute) or close to achieving it (with relevant planning experience)Have a good understanding and knowledge of the planning systemHave excellent analytical and writing skillsHave strong planning and organisational skillsHave time and workload management skillsBe able to provide clear, concise and well-reasoned advice to clientsHave the ability to manage your own projects and work as part of a teamHave confidence in communicating effectively with clients, consultees and the publicHold a full driving licenceComprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint
