Responsibilities Lead process equipment optimization and development to provide technical solutions for capacity, innovation, productivity, and maintenance projects and strategic initiatives. Main focus areas: Provide leadership in driving Foods process equipment optimization and serving as a technical liaison to SC operation, R&D and procurement. Responsible for developing and defining Foods process equipment scope and technology in support of productivity, capacity, innovation, quality, food safety projects and programs across Quaker business. Identify new equipment vendors/suppliers and develop process equipment specifications, and conduct process validation activities such as modeling, mass balance, and testing with external suppliers and consultants. Execute pilot scope for commercialization including the development of IP, safety, quality, operational and performance metrics, and influence capital and schedule requirements. Lead equipment start-up and validate process equipment during Factory Inspection Tests, Engineering Test Runs and Commissioning for new projects. Drive equipment and process standardization and serve as a technical liaison between the manufacturing plants. Perform basic economic evaluations on new processes and estimate the potential business value. Support corporate standards and leverage industry best practices. Brings forward new company standards for consideration. Assists in the development and update of disciplined standards and procedures. Trains and mentors less-experienced engineers. Develops training material and conducts technical seminars to improve team member technical and project management knowledge and capability. Actively participates in, promotes, and maximizes the use of the PFNA Engineering Community and other available resources. Provides input for strategic decisions in areas of expertise and proactively identifies areas of risk and develops solutions to ensure results. Demonstrate collaboration and communication skills to work with all levels of the organization. Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5 years of technical engineering experience, preferred experience with process equipment Ideal candidate must be a motivated, self-starter with good people and communications skills. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment with demonstrated success in influencing at all levels inside as well as outside the company. Able to manage and prioritize multiple technical initiatives at multiple plant locations and actively interact with cross functional teams. Able to provide analysis of options and make fact based and engineering data supported recommendations. Ability to work on teams and exhibit business leadership skills. Position requires 30 to 40% travel, up to 80% during project install and start-up phases Knowledge and skill requirements: Able to lead cross functional program/platform. Functional excellence in process equipment design and operations. Candidates with knowledge of food processing equipment in RTE cereal, IQO, IQG, Pasta and Rice cake manufacturing is preferred. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple technical initiatives. Excellent communication/presentation skills with an ability to negotiate with vendors, contractors, and consultants. Team building skills are required to manage and lead cross-functional teams. Self-motivated, results and action oriented Able to make independent and sound decisions. Able to assemble and present effective updates to senior leadership.
