You are a recognized technical leader in areas of critical importance to organization. You identify, define and solve complex technical business challenges by applying broad scientific and in-depth knowledge of your technical specialty. This is a leadership role in RDQ in your technical specialty, and as such, you regularly interact with senior management to identify and deliver current and future strategic research demands of the business.
How you will contribute
As part of the Open Innovation team and with minimal guidance, this role goes beyond technology scouting to leverage broad internal and external networks to drive innovation, and act as a change agent to create an OI culture and capabilities with the MEU RDQ organization. Leveraging relationship networks as needed to liaise effectively cross-functionally (internally) and externally with key 3rd party suppliers/providers, startups, educational/research institutions, etc. to deliver the strategic technical needs of our business. This person is the primary point of contact for external development programs in the MEU region. The holder of this position directly leads the exploration of new collaborative relationships opportunities that leverage the local/regional technology ecosystem and offer routes to address MDLZ technical needs which are aimed to deliver step-change innovation to Mondelez.
Primary Technical/ Operational Responsibilities:Fosters development of collaborative relationships that address MDLZ global technical needsStrengthens external engagement and Mondelez reputation as a key actor in the Regional Innovation ecosystem such as BBSRC, Vitagora, universities and other organizational bodies like tech start-up acceleratorsActs as MDLZ relationship manager for BBSRC Collaborative Training Partnership ProgramRole model the innovation and agile Open Innovation culture in the Region through constant encouragement to bring the outside in with key stakeholders and usage of OI tools, working with Legal to advocate for Mondelez interests in external development programs.Effectively builds internal global network to grasp technical needs and agilely assess potential value of new external capabilities & contacts to create solutions.Effectively communicates progress and results to relevant stakeholders (internal & external)Strategic Duties:Proactively scouts emerging opportunities to solve global MDLZ technical needs through networking amongst the MEU region external contact network to find the relevant technologies that feed into the RDQ transformational technology pipelines.Scouts and prioritizes with internal stakeholders opportunities to expand research through external funding, connected with R&D programs and prioritiesCo-develops plan as part of global OI team to further leverage regional external partners to address global needs.
