Associate Process Improvement Specialist - Administration

Assists managers and employees in creating and implementing process and systems improvement (Lean Healthcare). Assists in developing measurement tools to determine efficacy. Facilitates, advises others regarding process and systems improvement. Requires a willing learner who can readily assimilate new technologies and ideas, manage learning and change, and create a vision for a high performance, team-based organization.

Willing to do diverse work to assist anyone or any team in the hospital to reduce waste in the lean sense, reduce defects, reduce cost in the traditional sense, improve productivity, increase revenue or volumes, and take time and complexity out of processes.

Works with Directors and managers to determine appropriate metrics and devises tracking methods for improvements.

Understands the need to analyze situations from both a cultural and process perspective, so skills in process mapping, value stream mapping, data gathering, second level data analysis (pareto charts, testing for statistically significant interactions,  etc),  listening and seeking underlying information, observation and motion analysis, organizational development skills,  root cause analysis, and A3 are all possible tools that could be used.  Ability to appropriately seek advice is necessary.  The position will be required to research appropriate tools as well as attend training in these tools.

Required Qualifications:

1 year in a healthcare based position where lean and six sigma are being used. Past experience or training in Lean or Six Sigma. The candidate should have created real results from real projects in the past. Strong computer skills required with experience in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field Understanding of both clinical and non-clinical activities and processes within a healthcare setting
