As an Associate Producer, you will collaborate with producers in the newsroom to craft compelling stories. Your creativity and upbeat attitude will be essential as you tackle sensitive topics and tell character-driven stories. Alongside the team, you’ll represent what’s happening in your community and connect audiences with the stories that matter.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS  

Required Qualifications 

Experience: Television news - 0-2 yearsEducation: High school diplomaTechnical Skills: Knowledge of current events, social media, and industry trends Skills: Ability to collaborate, news writing skills, and attention to detail Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changesWrite and speak Spanish fluently

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, comparable television work experience preferredWorking knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systemsMay be required to lift up to five poundsNational news experience preferred

Working Conditions

Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasionSemi-noisy newsroom setting

The base pay for this position generally is between $20.40 and $43.30. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
