The original Action News has an opening for an associate producer. This person will have the opportunity to grow and perfect their craft in a dominant newsroom by some of the best in the business.

We want a news producer who wants to be creative and showcase content in unique ways. We’re looking for a person excited for feedback and critique who is in tune with viewers and reaching them on multiple platforms. This person must be a solid writer who can cut through the police speak & jargon to put together clear & concise copy for air & digital.

What You Will Do:

Write clear and compelling copyEdit videoComplete tasks on deadlineCommunicate clearly with team members before, during and after a newscastCraft newscasts as assigned by managementCollaborate with digital team on content that will be cross-postedCreate template graphics & maps for on air useStay informed on news of the dayAlways be willing to learn & improve
 

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum one year of TV news producing experienceMust be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include late nights, overnights, weekends and/or holidaysExperience with Dalet, Adobe Premiere editing a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree preferred

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
