HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT: The Associate Product Manager (APM) is responsible for resource management, strategic planning, tactical planning, and execution for a product portfolio within a larger product category. The APM strives to become the go-to product expert within the organization, developing a deep understanding of the products within the portfolio and competitive products in the marketplace. Key areas of ownership include developing, maintaining, and executing a 3–5-year global product road map, supporting new product launches with Sales and Brand Marketing teams, leadership on new product development in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing, Sales support on new and existing products, and championing the voice of the consumer within the organization. The APM is expected to develop a detailed understanding of product pricing, costs, category and product line profitability. To drive their business, the APM will demonstrate the ability to identify gaps in the marketplace through competitive analysis and user research and capitalize on these opportunities by working with R&D teams to develop solution-based product proposals. THE DETAILS: + Tactical Planning (40%)– Collaborate with the Marketing Insights Manager and Business Segment Director to develop research plans, including Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives and quantitative surveys. Focus on improving product usability and acceptance across the entire customer journey, from setup to disposal. Additionally, troubleshoot customer issues and work with technical staff to implement resolutions. + Execution (45%)– Oversee and drive projects to completion within budget and schedule while meeting stakeholder expectations. Work closely with sales teams to support customer needs, including quotations, delivery coordination, and CMA processes. Maintain and optimize the product portfolio by conducting SKU rationalization, pricing analysis, and cost management. Contribute to trade show activities and assist in the development of marketing tools, including product sheets, sales materials, digital content, and promotional campaigns. Drive continuous improvement in product performance by monitoring sales, margins, costs, and return on investment. + Strategic Planning & Resource Management (15%)– Develop and maintain a global product roadmap in collaboration with regional sales and product teams. Build business cases for new product investments, define customer requirements, and co-lead the product development process from ideation to execution. Gather and analyze market and customer data to forecast trends, identify target markets, and maintain competitive awareness. Balance internal and external demands with available resources by prioritizing project scope, schedule, and investment costs. Assist marketing teams in defining product value propositions and messaging strategies. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: + Bachelor of Science Degree in related field (business, marketing, finance, engineering) or equivalent experience + 1-3 years of experience in Product Management or Retail (dealer or sales) + Passion for and experience with forestry, garden, agriculture, construction tools or commercial equipment preferred + Demonstrated success in user experience, product delivery processes, positioning, product strategy and product launch a plus + Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner with minimal supervision + Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms + Creative thinker + Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed + Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred) For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 to $87,000.
