PROCESS BRIEF/ SUB-PROCESS BRIEF
FactSet’s Product Development department is responsible for implementing new products and enhancing existing ones. The mission of the department is to deliver simple, world-class solutions by collaborating with clients to understand their needs, with cross-functional project teams to share those insights, and with Sales to bring our solutions to market.
The Analytics group develops applications and solutions which facilitate tasks for portfolio managers, researchers, risk analysts, and performance analysts. Group members have strong financial backgrounds and understand the workflow of each of these investment professional types.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the first line of defense to answer questions related to Portfolio Analytics related products from sales/consulting and reconciliation teamIdentify and respond to client demand for new initiatives and enhancements to analytics solutionsParticipate in product focused rotations designed to teach the portfolio management process and provide exposure to multiple aspects of the Portfolio Analysis applicationDevelop requirements’ specifications from business requirements and help engineering/QA to understand the same. Work with the design team to develop Portfolio analytics related application’s featuresWork with engineers to fix bugs, test enhancements, and manage releases and client migrationsWork with Knowledge Management team to help write documentation as well as internal and external client communicationsWork with the Quality Assurance team to help ensure the ongoing quality of the Portfolio Analysis productsActively manage and share ideas to improve work processes and output-
Eligibility criteria –Skills required, Education & ExperiencesUndergraduate (Bachelor's) degree in Math/ Science/Statistics/ Engineering/ Finance or related fieldMBA Finance or master’s degree in some combination Mathematics/Statistics/Finance0-6 years of experience dealing with portfolio analysis/equity analysis/fixed income analysis at both conceptual and application levelArticulate communicator, with excellent language skills – both oral and written Has good understanding of financial clients’ needs and workflowsLiaise effectively (both written and oral) with engineers and data providersAbility to work independently and within a groupInterest in learning modern technologies/knowledgeBasic understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) & PDLC (Product Development Life Cycle)Prominent level of motivationProficiency with ExcelOpen for flexi hours as per business needCareer Progression Path:Product Analyst à Senior Product Analyst à Associate Product Specialist à Product Specialist à Senior Product specialist à Associate Product Manager à Product Manager à Senior Product ManagerInterview Process
