Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Associate Professor position in the **AI/Bioinformatics** field to begin September 1, 2025. The college had 852 BS, 557 MS and 68 PhD graduates in the 2023-24 fiscal year. All incoming first year students are enrolled in a common foundational curriculum for all undergraduate programs. Foundational students declare a program of choice and can move into upper division after completing the foundational classes with a TTU GPA of 2.5 or higher. The WCOE consists of the Departments of Chemical Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Petroleum Engineering. Annual research expenditures for the college are $41M. **About the Department/School/Area:** The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department currently has 860 undergraduate students, 155 graduate students, 25 tenured and tenure track faculty members, 15 teaching and research faculty, and has nine open tenure track positions at various levels. The Department offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The Department currently offers a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering, with various specializations including Pulsed Power and Power Electronics, Nanophotonics and Nanotechnology, Computer Vision and Image/Signal Analysis, Microelectronics and MEMS, Biomedical Systems and Engineering, RF/Analog System and Microwave Engineering, and Advanced Semiconductors.
