Associate Professor in Epigenetics

The Penn Institute for Epigenetics in partnership with the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of mass spectrometry/proteomics, single molecule and high resolution imaging and microscopy, chemical biology, biophysics, structural biology, genomics, and/or systems-level approaches. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D.
The faculty appointment will be in the Biochemistry and Biophysics department, or an appropriate department in the Perelman School of Medicine that is consistent with the scientific expertise of the successful candidate.
Associate Professor applicants will be expected to show evidence of an independent and externally-funded research program.
Teaching responsibilities may include contributing to graduate and medical school education of the University.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include having a track record of developing and using cutting-edge technologies and interest in applying such technologies to the fields of epigenetics, gene regulation, and biology of the cell nucleus. Particular areas of interest include: mass spectrometry/proteomics, single molecule and high resolution imaging and microscopy, chemical biology, biophysics, structural biology, genomics, and/or systems-level approaches.
