Position Information **Proposed Faculty Rank** Associate Professor/Professor **Department** 00166 - College of Social Work **City** Salt Lake City, UT **Track** Tenure Track **New Position to Begin** July 1, 2025 **Details** The University of Utah College of Social Work invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor to serve as the Director of the Master of Social Work ( MSW ) Program. The MSW Program Director will play a pivotal role in the program development and management, accreditation and compliance, faculty and staff leadership, student recruitment and success, community and professional engagement, and research and scholarship. This position requires a visionary individual with extensive experience in social work education, a collaborative approach to leadership, and a strong commitment to quality education, program growth, and student success—ensuring it meets the highest standards of excellence and aligns with the university’s mission. An administrative salary supplement is offered while serving as the MSW Program Director. **Required Qualifications** The successful candidate will have a strong scholarly record, a fundable research agenda, and documented excellence in teaching and service. To qualify for this position, applicants must have: + Education: Doctoral degree (PhD or DSW ) in Social Work or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree in social work ( MSW ) with a minimum of 2 years of post-masters professional social work experience. + Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in social work education (in-person and/or online), including experience in leadership or administrative role. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, accreditation/reaffirmation processes, program management, and instructional design. + Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
