Engineering Manager II

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design. The work model for the role is: HybridThis role is contributing to the Energy Industries Business in LongmeadowYou will be mainly accountable for:• Performs basic survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.• Collects data and supports production of the engineering design.• Exercises judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and prepares project documentation within their scope of deliverables.• Assists customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables.• Assists communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.• Participates in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.• Learns from best practices / Lessons-Learned documentation across different projects and disciplines.• Uses standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility.• Reports process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement.• Supports technical risk assessments and implements resulting actions for one’s projects.• Ensures Bill of Material (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations.• Follows work plans and cost estimates provided by the project manager• Ensures quality and timely implementation of projects within the targeted cost.• Collaborates with the Supply Chain function and the Project Manager(s) to meet the contractual obligations.• Coordinates with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately manufactured/ staged and tested.• Updates the engineering deliverables as-built.• Commissioning and Service

Qualifications for the role

BEng Tech in Electrical Engineering (light current) Minimum two years working experience in an Automation Industry performing Engineering Design and Commissioning Cyber and network experience AutoCAD knowledge Project execution experience Root cause analysis Team player Contractor coordination Ability to understand and solve automation issues by fault findingPreference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates in line with the company's employment equity targets.
