What’s the role

Information & Digital Engineering (IDE) is the digital delivery and capability engine for Shell, Delivering Digital Solutions, Driving Competitive Outcomes. Our teams are responsible for end-to-end delivery of technology build and digital solutions across Shell, creating significant value through products, project and programme delivery, and helping Shell meet its Powering Progress ambitions. Information and Digital Services and Operations (IDSO) delivery vertical strengthens end-to-end delivery by maturing Infrastructure Delivery capability and taking responsibility for delivery for the IDSO and Innovation demands. This includes delivery for Enterprise Digital foundations across Productivity, Digital Platforms, Connectivity, Identity Access & Security and ERP platforms, meeting infrastructure delivery requirements across all businesses to ensure reliable operations and specific demands to scale Innovation Proof of Concepts to service developments and wider deployments. The delivery vertical offers team members the opportunity to deepen the domain knowledge and skills specific to Enterprise Infrastructure components as well as site specific infrastructure needs required for reliable operations and business continuity, maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with IDSO and the business, and work in multi-skilled teams to innovate, drive continuous improvement and efficiencies. 

Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.  This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:

Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle

Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organizational boundaries

Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits

Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures

Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed

Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments.  Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately

Apply Shell project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support

As part of the IDE community, you will be expected to:

Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiative

Operate as an ambassador in support of Shell’s HSSE & DE&I agenda. We do the right thing with respect to our values, safety and people

Support strategic initiatives to drive operational performance

Participate within and contribute to the IDE community such as knowledge sharing, Lunch & Learns discussions, and social activities

What you bring

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

A 4-year degree in IT or a related field

Professional Training & Certifications related to Project or Program management such as PMP, PgMP or MSP are preferred

At least 3+ years in IT with project workstream experience

Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid project experience

Good understanding and experience of the various Agile frameworks

Experience planning and leading Agile projects and educating stakeholders and others involved while managing a project

Agile certifications/trainings preferred

Experience in Agile tooling such as Azure DevOps

Exhibiting servant leadership behavior, empowerment and increasing transparency that enables self-organization of teams

Professional certifications related to project or program management are desirable

Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools

Strong communication and presentation skills

What we offer

The base salary range for this position is $101,000 - $151,000 per year.  Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.       

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
