Associate Property Accountant - Summer Internship ( May - August ) Job ID 207352 Posted 21-Feb-2025 Service line Corporate Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Accounting/Finance Location(s) Toronto - Ontario - Canada About the Role: As a CBRE Accounting Intern/Trainee, you will work with a team of peers helping with data entry while learning and applying basic accounting fundamentals. This job is part of the General Accounting job function. They are responsible for the development and day-to-day maintenance of accounting processes and procedures. What You’ll Do: • Organize lockbox receipts, terminations, and security deposits. • Record basic cash receipts and enter transactions including billing, collecting payments, and sending statements. • Schedule recurring billings and statements. • Assist with the recording of payments, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports. Track deposits and credits. • Observe the team recording accounts payable information like invoices, issuing vendor refunds, and mailing vendor checks. • Complete data entry to assist with a variety of accounts receivable transactions. • Work with team to review invoices, void and cut manual checks and audit accounts payable trail. • Gather paperwork at the end of the month, such as copying, organizing, and binding reports. • Create and maintain financial files for reporting team. • Keep track of files making sure they are accurate. • Follow a set procedure in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities. • Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future What You’ll Need: • High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program. • Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job. • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. • Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. • Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
