Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Real-Time Software Engineer to join our Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) Simulation team in St. Charles, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

This skilled Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Software Tester will be instrumental in the development of real-time software systems within our Hardware-in-the-Loop lab, supporting simulations, integration testing, and the ongoing advancement of hardware and software solutions. You will actively participate in the software development efforts aimed at establishing robust testing capabilities across various facilities. While formal education is beneficial, we prioritize hands-on experience and proficiency in software testing methodologies, particularly within defense-related contexts. This position offers a competitive compensation package reflective of the specialized expertise needed to succeed in this dynamic environment.

Position Responsibilities: 

•    Collaborating across teams to realize concepts in production.
•    Creating clean software for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration and regression testing, utilizing simulation/re-simulation.
•    Ensuring responsibility, adherence to best engineering practices, and development of high-quality production software. This includes thorough documentation of new features, creation of meaningful unit/integration tests, and prioritization of safety and security.
•    Working with fellow engineers to translate long-term objectives into achievable intermediate milestones.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed selected location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Coding Challenge: 
To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.  Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

•    1+ years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test. 
•    1+ Experience in with mission/safety-critical software development.
•    1+ Experience collaborating with internal partners to meet business goals and objectives. 
•    Experience with Software Engineering principles including, but not limited to, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management. 


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
•    Industry experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues on embedded electrical systems or on the test infrastructure used to test embedded electrical systems.
•    Experience with Unix/Linux systems
•    Software development experience
•    Strong problem-solving skills.
•    Advanced creative thinking skills.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range for Associate Level: $90,100 - $121,900
