Job Purpose
Complete low level assignments related to routine refurbishment, modification, and rework of gas turbine engine packages. Applies limited knowledge of refurbishment, mechanics, or electronics to support more experienced team members. In turn, acquires additional skills and knowledge about turbomachinery systems, packages, and the refurbishment process. NATURE AND SCOPE:
Applies basic electronic or mechanical knowledge to execute tasks, assist higher level technicians, participate in team assignments to update and refurbish packages to customer specifications. Works under close supervision using verbal instructions and some engineering documentation as guidance. Learns to use shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, and inspection equipment. Assignments could include (but are not limited to) any of the following activities:
1.Tearing down packages and parts received from customer or other Solar locations, cleaning and preparing same for refurbishment.
2.Determining if parts are reusable, locating replacement parts from any of several possible locations. Reassembling sections of the package.
3.Preparing parts for painting, preparing the paint booth, and completing paint activities.
4.Learning and performing duties related to the small components area.
5.Applies increasing knowledge base of electronics to assemble package controls, referring to specification sheets and engineering drawings to update old systems with the new technology.
6.Applies increasing knowledge of mechanical assembly to work package parts, per customer requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to learn team skills and apply them to the assignments given, working in a teaming environment. Some exposure to mechanics or electronics, or familiarity with shop floor procedures is strongly preferred. Formal courses at the high school level or junior college in electronics, hydraulics, mechanics, shop procedures, or the equivalent in work experience is necessary.
**Warehouse Operations includes, but is not limited to:**
+ Receiving, verifying, sorting, stocking/putting away and pulling outbound material in support of kitting, crating, production and all areas of Mabank.
+ Material Packing and Crating.
+ Perform all related data input requirements necessary to comply with inventory record accuracy requirements.
+ Crating of Controls Retrofit and and Package Systems Upgrade Material.
+ Forklift Operations for material movement.
+ Loading/Unloading Trucks.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Must have a GED or Diploma
+ Basic computer knowledge
+ -Good problem-solving skills
+ 6+ months of previous warehouse experience
+ Must be willing to learn teaming skills and work in a team-oriented work environment
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Ability to read drawings
+ Familiarity with Microsoft
+ Familiarity with Trade Automation
+ Familiarity with Inventory Record systems
+ Experience with BAAN system
+ Previous equipment operating experience (i.e. Forklift, Stock-Picker, etc)
+ Excellent interpersonal skills
**Summary Pay Range:**
$45,809.00 - $68,713.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
