The Associate Registrar is part of the leadership team for the Office of the Registrar and is responsible and accountable for planning, coordination, and oversight of major functions in the Office of the Registrar that support students, staff, faculty, and administrators. This position oversees academic operations related to student records, class scheduling, registration systems, and degree completion; as well as ensures the development, implementation, and interpretation of policies and procedures that support the mission of the Office of the Provost and the University. The Associate Registrar represents the Registrar on assigned committees, work groups, and various meetings and provides a high quality of customer service and senior project leadership. This role participates in process change initiatives and serves as functional lead in special projects ensuring compliance with institutional standards.

Description of Primary Duties
The Associate Registrar is part of the leadership team for the Office of the Registrar and is responsible and accountable for planning, coordination, and oversight of major functions. This position oversees all aspects of the class schedule, including the building procedures, editing the schedule for accuracy and compliance with University policies, applying tuition and fess appropriately, and developing and maintaining documentation and training procedures. This position is involved with course related curricular implementation programming into our student information system (Banner). This position also oversees and manages the related policies, procedures, and administration of programs requiring customized registration.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of years of experience and education may be considered for substitution of educational requirements.

Experience: Five years of related professional work experience is required. Experience working with complex data systems is required. Experience working in a higher education setting is preferred as well as experience working with the Banner student module. Supervisory experience is preferred

Skills: Ability to work effectively and collegially with University administrators, faculty, staff, and students is required. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to effectively disseminate information regarding academic regulations to various University constituencies as well as the ability to manage details associated with the implementation of complex policies and procedures , and effective decision-making skills are required. Proficiency in student information systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Banner or similar ERP systems preferred. The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment is preferred. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Other: Requires occasional travel for conferences or professional development.
