Job Description
The Associate Repository Technician will perform assigned activities within the repository service operations areas. The incumbent will utilize the biorepository/biobanking industry's best practices to perform work according to SOPs. Responsible for the receipt, inventory, storage, withdrawal, and shipping of biological specimens, samples, and materials. Commercial and government client materials are stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C and have potentially hazardous properties. This position uses database applications and standard precautionary procedures to work independently, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions. Work is performed following standard operating procedures and is routinely reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and adherence to standards.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure material and sample data are accurately entered and tracked in the ERP system.
+ Process incoming materials and prepare outgoing samples for shipping or delivery.
+ Work closely with supervisors to support customer inquiries, such as discrepancies in shipments, inventory maintenance, and database updates.
+ Assist management in the completion of reports for customer complaints, process deviations, incidents, and accidents in a timely manner.
+ Monitor temperature/liquid nitrogen (LN2) levels and document system alerts.
+ Clean freezers and tanks, and consolidate/reorganize internal specimens.
+ Demonstrate flexibility to travel to other facilities and respond to after-hour emergencies.
+ Follow effective outbound shipping processes to ensure accurate, on-time delivery of orders and adherence to packaging and shipping requirements.
+ Examine, stock, and distribute materials to inventory and manufacturing lines.
Skills/Responsibilities
+ Experience in repository and biobanking operations.
+ Proficiency in the receipt, storage, and withdrawal of specimens and samples.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems.
+ Experience in life sciences.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Experience within a regulated environment.
+ Knowledge of GMP and IATA regulations .
+ Skills in sample handling.
+ Minimum HS Diploma with some related experience or manufacturing experience.
+ Experience within life sciences or a degree in life sciences is highly desirable.
Work Environment
The work environment includes production floor as well as back-of-the-house work. Onsite hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am - 5:30/6 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
