Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in developing, validating, and transferring new tissue processing and cell sample preparation methods and/or cell pathway and signaling assays for cancer cells from various tissues. This role involves culturing and preparing human cells, participating in clinical studies, and performing various assays to identify and sort cell types by biomarkers.

Key Responsibilities:Assist in the development, validation, and transfer of new tissue processing and cell sample preparation methods and/or cell pathway and signaling assays for cancer cells from various tissues.Culture and prepare consistent batches of human cells for assays.Participate in clinical studies, study set up, and generation of results.Perform assays to identify and sort cell types by biomarkers.Perform genotypic and pathway characterizations for human cells.Collaborate with science directors to develop new assays or troubleshoot existing assays.Manage and organize laboratory resources, instruments, procedures/protocols.Provide documentation control support, including cell assay R&D results records, specimen and results database, and procedures.Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.Skills & QualificationsAdvanced degree preferred in Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Oncology, or Translational or Systems Medicine.Ph.D. with experience developing activity-based live cell assays for small molecules, OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, OR Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience.3-6 years of experience with cell-based assays in oncology or immunology.Experience developing assays using techniques such as qPCR, flow cytometry, automated western blot, RNA-seq, plate-based fluorescent/luminescent, impedance-based, metabolic profiling, oxygen consumption, and imaging.Experience in developing activity-based live cell assays for small molecules.Practical knowledge about human cell culture for performing live cell assays.Ability to conduct human cell experiments independently.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

- Celcuity matches 100% of your contribution for the first 2% of your pay and 50% of your contribution on the next 4% of your pay for a total matching contribution of up to 4% of an employee’s annual salary
- Employees may purchase shares worth up to 10% of annual salary
- HSA contributions:
$4,150 single – Celcuity will contribute $3,250 ($812.5 per quarter)
$8,300 family – Celcuity will contribute $6,500 ($1,625 per quarter)
