The Position
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our growing Biology team at our research and development facility in Madison, WI. This role will focus on supporting in vitro, ex vivo, and/or in vivo studies to drive drug discovery and development.
Responsibilities
Support in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development Perform cell-based functional assays Perform gene expression and functional analysis by various methods Support teams in new target identification and validation Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments Primary Bioassays Responsibilities: Execution of biological assays examining gene and protein expression RNA isolation & qPCR, immunoassays, luminescence-based assays Data analysis Excel and Benchling experience preferred Work with a small team of scientists, while working closely with other research groups and senior managersRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field, or associate’s degree in related field with at least 1 years of experience in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, or related field of Biology Strong problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environmentPreferred:
Industrial (Biotech or Pharma) research experience Experience with methods and technologies involving mammalian cell culture, in vitro cell-based assays, molecular biology including qPCR, immunoassays, and microscopy Knowledge of pulmonary, cardiovascular, CNS or metabolic disease Wisconsin pay range $55,000—$65,000 USDArrowhead provides competitive salaries and an excellent benefit package.
