The Security Officer I receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces Kadlec, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Evening shift
Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Security Academy, Department Field Training Officer Program, AVADE Levels I, II, & III, OC/Pepper Spray, Baton, CEW/Taser, Handcuffing, CPR/AED and Basic Healthcare Security Training within 90 days of hire. Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Criminal justice, History, or English. 1 year of Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience or two years of work experience in a healthcare setting, or related college coursework deemed relevant to position.
