Clinical Trial Foundations
Clinical Trial Foundations (CTF) as part of Clinical Design, Delivery & Analytics (CDDA) provides leadership in the strategy and development of contemporary clinical trial processes, technologies, information, and capabilities and in shaping external policy and guidance to speed the delivery of medicines to patients globally. The purpose of the Clinical Trial Foundations, (CTF) Business Architect role is to support the implementation of Business Process Management (BPM) across the Clinical Design, Delivery and Analytics (CDDA) organization. The Business Architect is responsible and/or assists in the development of relevant principles, process-related roles, guidelines relating to the creation and effective management of business processes. The Business Architect facilitates the development of an integrated view of clinical development processes using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Process Management Leadership & Support
Determines and/or contributes to development of methodologies and standards for BPM-related activities such as process mapping, modeling of inter-process relationships, business rule definition, and the creation & maintenance of repositories of process information.
Partners with process owners to ensure that process control strategies are in place and actively used to manage and optimize business process performance on an ongoing basis.
Coaches, consults, and provides training to process owners and others in the business to ensure consistent and effective management & optimization of clinical development business processes.
Ensures the effective integration of BPM with Quality across the CDDA.
Facilitates the development of cross-functional and cross-organizational business processes and solutions that are aligned to business strategy and enable the achievement of organizational goals.
Business Architecture Leadership & Support
Provides support in representing business organizational and process perspectives in strategy development discussions, definition of business architecture, and identification of business implications & business case development for new projects.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a science- or health- related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in drug development or pharmaceutical setting. preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and succinctly with team members and leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills; able to anticipate and recognize problems, diagnose root causes and take corrective action to prevent recurrence within the team.
Excellent self-management and organizational skills; able to manage workload, set personal and team priorities and adjust as needed.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop effective teamwork between team members with diverse interpersonal styles.
Flexibility to adjust quickly and effectively to frequent change and altered priorities.

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
Experience in leading large organizational change efforts.
Limited travel, including international, up to 10%.
