We use the latest open-source web technologies, software engineering practices and delivery methodologies and are passionate about technology and building well architected and innovative solutions for the business. This cutting edge and forward focused team present the opportunity for autonomy and visibility as we focus on continuous integration and test driven development. This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Responsibilities: + Work closely with BA’s, development team, QA, and design leads using Agile methodology.. + With some guidance, research and evaluate solutions, and recommend/develop/test the most efficient and cost-effective solution to meet business requirements that conforms to The Hartford’s coding standards. + With some guidance, help create verification methods and procedures and participate in systems testing. + Debug and troubleshoot defects. + With some guidance, develop technical documentation for various project deliverables and phases. Technologies Used: + Java, .NET, Gosu, RESTful APIs, Spring, JavaScript frameworks such as React. + Jenkins, UDeploy, Nexus, ANT/Maven, JUnit. Requirements: + 1+ year basic programming experience outside of the classroom. + Demonstrated evidence of technical/analytical and logic-based problem-solving skills. + Computer Science undergraduate degree with co-op, internship or early career experience. + Self-motivation, good judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
