**THE OPPORTUNITY:**
We have an immediate opportunity for a Associate Specialist Procurement Sustainability in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL location.
Abbott’s Global Procurement Services (GPS) is a corporate function supporting procurement and supply chain activities across all Abbott businesses. The Supply Chain Sustainability (SCS) team partners across Abbott businesses and functions (such as Operations, Supply Chain, EHS, Legal, External Affairs, etc.), as well as strategic external partners, to drive the strategic direction and management of supply chain sustainability, governance, and programming to all levels of the organization. The Specialist reports to the corporation’s Manager of Supply Chain Sustainability Due Diligence within GPS:SCS team.
The Supply Chain Sustainability Associate Specialist is responsible for supporting Abbott’s supply chain sustainability programming. This role will work closely with various functions and divisions across the Abbott organization to drive supply chain sustainability due diligence and compliance activities, as well as supplier-facing communication engagements in support of Abbott’s 2030 Supply Chain Sustainability Goals and external expectations.
**CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITES:**
+ Execute requirements to support the Supply Chain Sustainability program including managing internal and supplier program communications, prioritizing and triaging internal and supplier inquiries, and manage due diligence campaign communications including audit communications and logistics.
+ Maintain performance metrics, tools, reporting processes, systems and communications for supply chain sustainability activities. Provide project, data, and program management for implementation of enterprise-level programs.
+ Develop supply chain sustainability content, training and communications for a variety of internal and external Abbott stakeholders. Develop and maintain process documentation for due diligence processes including screening, assessment, remediation, audit and reporting to enable standardization for the program.
+ Partner with Division and Category Procurement, Sustainability Liaisons, and other Abbott cross-functional team members to drive supply chain sustainability considerations into category management strategies, decision making and supplier relationship management.
+ Analyze complex problems, deliver solutions and implement process improvements for sustainability issue management across the program.
+ Collaborate with business team members to identify and implement strategies, programs and initiatives that will address Abbott-supplier shared sustainability impacts across Abbott’s value chain.
+ Represent Abbott’s expectations, values and priorities to internally and with Abbott’s suppliers.
+ Execute other assigned tasks to support entire SCS team effectiveness as needed to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point (or note Microsoft Office)
+ Flexible to work within a matrix organization; at ease within a fast paced, demanding, goal driven environment.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Subject matter expertise in sustainability and ESG topics preferred.
+ Strong communications skills (power point presentations, mass communications campaigns, presentations, analysis summaries, etc.).
+ High degree of customer satisfaction/responsiveness in a variety of communications outlets (email, presentations, business meetings, etc.).
+ Experience working collaboratively and building strong partnerships across teams.
+ Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate a high level of initiative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
+ Interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences, while optimizing overall organizational goals.
+ Good interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.

The base pay for this position is $48,000.00 – $96,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
