The Associate Staff Research Scientist is responsible for developing and leading research programs related to improvements in mass spectrometer hardware, as well as supporting the commercialization process for various capabilities. This position reports to the Technical Director, LCMS Research, and is part of the Research department located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Deliver research projects to either commercial or pre-commercial groups + Identify customer needs and barriers against customer problems and can translate to multiple hardware features. + Translate development or scientific risks into tangible research plans + Report research findings to project teams and research leaders and/or at scientific conferences + Mentor junior research scientists to ensure work is completed on-time to required standard The essential requirements of the job include: + Higher level Science degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc; PhD strongly preferred + 7+ years of relevant experience related to mass spectrometry + Broad background and knowledge of ion movement and theoretical aspects of mass spectrometry + Proven publication record within the field on hardware design + Excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with little supervision SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
