Associate Support Specialist
ResponsibilitiesLocated within the trade floor and facing-off directly to traders, quants, quant developers, salespeople and relationship managers, this a varied role working on a multitude of market-leading technologies to support the running of Liquidnet s bespoke trading platform. The role is ultimately responsible for support duties across the Liquidnet, CoEx and ICAP RV businesses and production systems used for Equities and Exchange-Traded Derivatives asset classes.With a strong emphasis on the support of the listed derivatives business, the role encompasses daily support of the platform, configuration of new and existing client requests and testing new functionality prior to release to members, ultimately acting as the gatekeeper for the front office production environment. Responsibilities Located within the front office, provide support to client-facing business teams (Trade DeskTrade Coverage) and clients, performing diagnosis of revenue-generating issues and routine tasks, escalating to Platform ServicesImplementation/Development where appropriate. First responders to all client-related support issues, escalating to other internal support or development teams where required. Support Liquidnet Listed Derivatives, including Fidessa GTP, interfaces for various E/OMS vendors and direct access FIX interfaces. Respond to monitoring alerts pertaining to trading systems (execution DKs, order rejections, breaches of risk controls etc) Incident managements for front office issues Assist with product testing and project work. Contribute towards follow the sun support model, working closely with global teams in APAC and US to ensure pre-market health checks are performed for each region. Performing regional start of day health checks to ensure all processes are up and members are connected to the platform. Occasional weekend work will be required during major upgrades and out of hours testing.Qualifications Demonstrable experience within the listed derivatives markets with a strong understanding of trading and clearing workflows. 5 years hands-on support experience within a financial institution (buy-side, sell-side, venue/platform provider) Strong working knowledge of Fidessa GTP or equivalent systems Proactive, tenacious individual with ability to solve complex issues. Creative and enthusiastic approach to new or existing challenges Willingness to challenge the status quo and bring about positive change Capable of balancing multiple conflicting priorities and managing stakeholder expectations honestly and appropriately Demonstrable working knowledge of the FIX protocol Application support experience within a Unix / Linux environment Familiarity of MSSQL, Oracle or Sybase database environments, including query-writing Experience of supporting Windows Server environments Experience in troubleshooting basic network problems: i.e. firewall and routing problems. Good working understanding of python, PERL and/or bash scripts
