As the Associate Systems Engineer, you will support the Systems Engineering team by providing technical guidance, training, and expertise throughout the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Being a technical advisor and product advocate, you will engage with industry groups, sales representatives, and customers to promote plumbing and HVAC solutions, including controls integration. Working closely with engineers, architects, and owners, you will help determine the best system configurations for optimum efficiency and reliability. Your role will involve both in-field support and collaboration with internal teams, offering an excellent opportunity to influence the specification and application of cutting-edge products and services.
You Will:
Participate in sales activities with Regional Sales Managers and local representatives to support future and ongoing projects involving owners, architects, and engineers.
Provide technical expertise, specification guidance, and applications support to sales representatives, ensuring they understand and communicate the value proposition of products and services.
Conduct training sessions, lunch-n-learns, and engineering visits for both new and existing Sales Agencies, enhancing their knowledge of application best practices and product value.
Assist Marketing teams in developing collateral and refining value propositions based on customer feedback and market insights.
Utilize equipment operating parameters to create and maintain selection tools, working closely with subject matter experts to automate sizing and selection tasks.
Perform necessary engineering calculations to ensure optimal product recommendations, comparing market and competitor offerings to guide field engineering staff in determining best-fit solutions.
Represent the company at industry events, professional societies, and seminars, delivering general industry-related presentations and supporting customer factory visits as needed.
Provide product and industry topic presentations as required in the field.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather and relay competitor intelligence, ensuring field staff have the latest product compatibility and application information.
Manage expenses in line with budget guidelines and company policies, including hosting sales agencies and customers.
Contribute to special inter-company projects and maintain current knowledge of all company products.
You Have:
BS or BE in Engineering.
3+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC/Plumbing industry.
Customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to apply commercial HVAC and plumbing equipment in complex systems.
Public presentation skills, with comfort speaking to varied audiences.
Programming/coding experience for developing or maintaining configuration tools.
In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, with a track record of optimizing complete mechanical and plumbing system designs.
Skills suited to a service-oriented and collaborative environment.
Ability to travel up to 15% to support manufacturing representatives, seminars, and industry events.
The expected salary range for this position is $72,000 - $85,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
