We are seeking someone that resides in the Greater Toronto Area to fill our Associate Treasurer opportunity. This remote, contract assignment will last approximately 9-10 months with limited business travel of up to 25% of the time. This person is responsible for strengthening the Treasury function, by assisting the VP, Treasury with strategy and tactics of cash and cashflow management, accounting, risk management and reporting processes, to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate monthly results. By supporting the implementation of Treasury related projects, you will help to drive the Treasury agenda and to add value to the organization, both now and in the future.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
+ Management and oversight of TMS (Treasury Management System).
+ Supervise direct report and manage cash balances, surplus cash and funding requirements in multiple currencies. Reviewing monthly cash forecasts leading to accurate cashflow and daily treasury position to ensure back-office treasury operations are completed. Management and oversight cash movements and accounting related to corporate benefits.
+ Oversee deliver month/quarter end Treasury reporting accurately and in a timely manner including the review of reconciliations.
+ Lead process for benefits and insurance accounting, audits and reconciliations.
+ Support budget and strategic estimates for Treasury department.
+ Continuous Improvement: Identify potential for process improvements / standardization in Corporate and within the wider, global treasury function and Drive implementation of process improvements either directly or through direct reports.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or Accounting required, professional qualification (CPA) a plus.
+ Direct accounting experience and strong accounting fundamentals required.
+ Good knowledge of financial processes, including planning and analysis. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Strong understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet.
+ Awareness of capital markets (long and short term), foreign exchange and macroeconomic conditions desirable but not essential.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills. Knowledge and experience of ERP, banking, and treasury systems desirable but not essential
+ Great influencing, analytical and leadership skills.
+ High degree of attention to detail.
+ Strong communication skills: ability to work well with others in a team environment, work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and develop relationship at multiple levels across a global team in several time zones.
