We’re hiring an Associate Vice President, Development in Houston, TX.
In this position, responsibilities include advising and collaborating with internal staff, corporations, and community leaders to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and fundraising efforts for the Houston Go Red for Women campaign. Accountable for revenue generation and community development activities as well as handling top corporate accounts, securing cause sponsorships, identifying and recruiting volunteer leadership, recruiting Executive Leadership Teams, and holding others accountable to the team fundraising goals and objectives. This position requires a self-starter who functions independently with minimal direction and will lead and supervise assigned staff. The 2025 fundraising goal for this campaign is $1.5M, with growth to $3M by 2027.
This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule. We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

**Responsibilities**
Some of the responsibilities include:
+ Work with VP, Development for Houston to implement the plan of year over year revenue growth through mission impact opportunities, strategic market partnerships and philanthropic donors.
+ Build strong volunteer leadership relationships through active stewardship and cultivation to accomplish results. Including recruitment and management of event chairs.
+ Create a course of action to accomplish fundraising and health goals in support of the mission.
+ Create relationships with C-suite/executive volunteers and responsible for managing the Executive Leadership Team for Go Red for Women.
+ Lead campaign development staff in the identification, cultivation and recruitment of C-suite and executive management volunteers with a focus on Fortune 1000 companies and top employers.
+ Sustain existing, and build new, corporate and community partnerships, and partnerships with affluent individual donors and foundations.
+ Cultivate major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships, and identifying and securing foundation gifts.
+ Apply standard process policies and follow American Heart Association procedure guidelines. Ensure the campaign team is also following expectations.
+ Participating in and leading top-level cultivation strategies and engagements.
+ Lead and coach a team of fundraisers and support staff. Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and train potential new hires.
+ Regular communication with team to review the status of goals, both individual and campaign, and recommend changes or approaches that will enhance the efficiency of the Go Red campaign.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
+ 5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising or similar experience.
+ 3 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
+ Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-suite level.
+ Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial.
+ Ability to travel the Houston area daily; always requires access to reliable transportation on an immediate basis.
+ Understanding of how to engage and work within philanthropic communities.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
