Leadership Agenda

The Associate Vice President leads the technology strategy for university’s Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERPs), the learning management ecosystem, service management tools, software development, integration services to connect disparate systems, database administration, data warehousing, business intelligence (reporting and analytics), and other enterprise-wide applications (both on-premise and cloud based). The AVP contributes to the goals, objectives and key results of the university IT Strategic Plan and manages ESET team and resources to achieve goals, objectives and key results. Key priorities for the AVP include:

Structure the ESET organization, develop its culture and support the development of its staff. Build strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the university. Create an enterprise applications roadmap that leverages modern design principles and technologies and effectively meets both current and future university needs. Support the on-going migration of Virginia Tech’s student information system to the cloud. Collaboratively develop a strategy for the future of finance, human resources, research administration and other major enterprise platform technologies. Upgrade the University’s data and reporting technologies to improve data integrations and access. Support the broader adoption of the University’s service management platform. Develop the capabilities and services to enable business process transformation.
