Job Description:
The use of business intelligence tools is becoming increasingly an area of focus to support business growth. This role will focus on the implementation and managing of specific business intelligence tools in alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements and expectations. In particular, it will include building algorithmic and model risk governance programs including inventories, risk ratings testing and monitoring, training and reporting. It will also include building similar programs for Artificial Intelligence, End User Computing, Non Models and Business Managed Technology.
The ideal candidate would have knowledge of the use of business intelligence tools in the capital markets business
Accountabilities
TD Securities' (TDS) Governance & Control (G&C) team partners with the TDS businesses globally to oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of effective internal controls to ensure business activities remain within TD Bank's risk appetite and comply with regulatory requirements.The team is responsible for overseeing the timely and consistent implementation – across all TDS businesses – of all risk, control and governance programs, initiatives, policies, and strategic business projects. The TDS G&C team acts as the primary contact for the TDS businesses, working closely with subject matter experts from each TDS business line. The team works together with the business leaders to implement Enterprise and TDS policies, frameworks, methodologies, standards, and practices and are key members of enterprise projects / programs requiring TDS representation.This role is part of Algos, Models & End User Computing (EUCs), Business Managed Tools (BMT) and Non-Models team within TDS G&C. The team works very closely with business heads across all Global Markets businesses, asset classes, and regions. The team is also the point of contact for key internal partners including Algo Risk Control, Model Risk, Model Validation, Compliance, Audit, and regional leadership.The purpose of this role is to build and maintain Governance programs for each risk.To identify and build inventories for maintaining all of TD Securities' algos/model/EUC/BMT/Non-Models.Algo/ Model/ EUCs and BMT Governance Programs – work with TD Securities including eTrading businesses globally while partnering with 2nd Line functions including Algo Risk Control (ARC), Compliance, Operational Risk, Platforms & Technology, Model Risk Management, and Model Validation. The program covers all Global Markets businesses and asset classes including Foreign Exchange (FX), Fixed Income (FI), Commodities, and Equities. Main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Enhance current change management processes to increase speed to market while aligning with risk appetite and regional requirements.Along with the control partners team, establish clear roles and responsibilities for managing Algo/Model/EUC/BMT activities across the Three Lines of Defense.Work with businesses and Risk Management to complete Algo/model/EUCs/BMT identification and risk assessments for TDS.Establish monitoring framework for each governance program and setup a process to regularly review and assess monitoring tools and processes.Work with 2nd Line partners to regularly assess the risks associated in these programs for these trading activities, and to establish a framework to risk assess each algos/model/EUC/BMT/Non-Models.Enhance the Inventory for each area including adding appropriate attributes and designing a solution to maintain the inventory (e.g. Confluence).Evolve procedures for Issues Management including the timely identification, escalation, and remediation of Operational Risk Events, Audit Findings, and regulatory violations.Collaborate with Global Market Supervision, business heads, Vendor Management, and Risk Management to improve transparency and monitoring of Third-Party owned/developed Algos/model/EUC/BMT/Non-Models.Shared Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue value opportunities for the bank in partnership with 1Bs across TDS including the regions Provide reporting and monitoring to TDS Executives, Risk ManagementPartner with the business and within TDS and enterprise partners in executing and meeting deliverables.Education & Experience
Direct experience with Algo Trading, Model Governance, End User Computing and Business Managed Technology strategies in a 1st or 2nd line (e.g. Sales & Trading, Governance & Controls, Technology, Compliance, Risk function).Risk management and/or Governance & Controls experience within any of the Three Lines of Defense functions.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships at multiple levels across both 1st line businesses and enterprise partners including 2nd line teams and audit.Advanced abilities in making decisions using a risk-based approach and articulating the rationale behind those decisions to various audiences.Experience with end-to-end capital markets operations, organizational awareness, familiarity with capital markets supporting functions (e.g. back-office operations, market risk, capital/finance functions, etc.)Experience in reviewing and challenging business teams around testing approach/results, approval procedures, and level of detail on information provided.Working knowledge of capital markets asset classes (e.g. fixed income, FX, equity/FI/FX derivatives, commodities) and regulatory environment.Who We Are:
