Job Summary\:

Reporting to the Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Finance and Administration, the Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations will play an integral role in the day-to-day financial management of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is primarily responsible for managing the daily operations of the Athletics Business Office and overseeing the processing and recording of department transactions. Incumbent is responsible for weekly and monthly reconciliation and reporting of revenues and expenses, along with aiding with budget preparation, monitoring, and financial and governmental reporting. The Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations will have signature authority on purchases and will supervise the Business Office staff. The incumbent will also serve as a secondary contact for personnel activities of the athletics department. The Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations will also perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience\:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Sports Management or related field. Four (4) years of directly related experience in financial and operations management. Experience in reconciliation management and reporting. Demonstrated budget and financial reporting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 Preferred\:

       Master’s Degree NCAA Division I experience. 

Required Skills & Abilities\:

         Familiarity with best practices in financial reporting, budget management, and reconciliation.          Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.          Demonstrate a proven track record in building quality relationships.          Demonstrated experience with operational policies and procedures planning, review and development.          Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.          Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.          Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, project management and team-building skills.          Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.          Demonstrated strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.          Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.          Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.          Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
