No Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Director – Financial Counselor is a critical member of the Financial Aid Team, providing guidance to Undergraduate and Graduate Students in all aspects of financing a Loyola University Chicago education.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Providing excellent customer service to Students and Parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other forms of engagement regarding all financial aid matters. Conducting file review, preforms professional judgement, completes verification, and updates award packaging as required. Monitoring/maintaining application statuses within the Student Information System. Accessing federal and state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility. Supporting the Financial Aid Office by managing specific program area(s) such as R2T4, SAP, FWS, Scholarships, Consortium, Veterans, etc. Supporting the University through presentations to various public audiences including FAFSA workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and other admission events. Collaborating with Campus Partners to provide a holistic approach to service. Performing other duties as required. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three – five years of related experience, or a combination of education and work experience . A solid knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential. Qualifications Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must. Customer service experience preferred. Must be able to work with a diverse student population. Ability to think critically with an eye for detail. Adaptable to change. Must be able to work as part of a diverse Team. Support students and families from all backgrounds. Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential. Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced environment. PeopleSoft experience highly preferred. Certificates/Credentials/Licenses NA Computer Skills Proficiency with Department of Education databases; COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, SAIG.
