The Inflight Services department includes flight attendants and the teams that support them.

Job overview and responsibilitiesReports to the Operations Manager and supports the Base Leader as required for all organizational goals within the Inflight divisionCoordinates the implementation of safety policies and procedures, securing relationships and support from other organizations/divisions as vital to support objectivesSpecific emphasis is on providing local management with information and practices that enable a reduction of operational disruptions, and increase in Net Promotor scoresEnsures consistent implementation of standard safety and Inflight objectivesWork with station(s) to resolve root cause of operational disruptions, aircraft damage incidents and share lessons learnedWork with Inflight Management to ensure adherence to regulatory practices and PSA briefing itemsWork with other divisions (Flight operations, Airport operations, Safety) to resolve cross-departmental issuesCoordinate the implementation of consistent Inflight Operation functions across all basesProvides support to the Operations Managers in supervising all areas of the Operation within an area of United’s airport operation (multiple gates), communicating with internal partners, and supporting United’s core4 values through critical decision-makingIdentify and address flight-level issues/exceptions related to Inflight, PSA, baggage processes, customer boarding, net promotor scores, catering, and general FA concernsIdentify irregularities such as IFDM alerts, ATC/WX issues, medical emergencies, major/minor flight alerts, and staffing issues and work with the SOC and scheduling to resolveCoordinate, communicate, and partner with team members across United’s operation via phone, radio, and messaging services to escalate and resolve critical issuesWork with all collaborators to ensure Inflight priorities and initiatives are maintainedDocument notable issues with operational performance as requiredIdentify changes required to improve future operational performanceDevelop and support standard work and continuous improvement processes with team of Inflight Operations supervisorsMentor, promote and develop colleagues, to grow professionally and strengthen the overall Inflight teamQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent2-3 years’ previous Inflight supervisory experience or equivalent work experience2-3 years’ experience leading and influencing a team with solid conflict resolution and decision-making capabilityEffective time management, presentation, and organizational skillsProven track record in roles requiring strategic planning, continuous improvement, analytical problem-solving, goal-directed leadership and service-oriented performancePositive demeanor and ability to adapt to constantly changing work environmentProven track record to work independently and with other team members across the organization in creating a collaborative work environmentStrong verbal and written communications skillsIntermediate skills with Microsoft Office programsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the positionWillingness to comply with flight attendant tattoo guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, neck, or hands, including behind the earAbility to reach vertically at least 82 inches, without shoes on, in order to reach and operate all necessary equipment and machineryWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree and/or related field experience in an airline operational environmentInflight Service, travel industry, or hospitality leadership experience highly preferredKnowledge of operations, management, and logistics principlesKnowledge of the flight attendant contract and experience managing a unionized workforce
The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $108,790.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
