unit operations This position supervises a work group to ensure that a high quality cost effective patient and family centered care is provided in support of the hospitals strategic plan and the functions goals and objectivesThis position works collaboratively with functional leadership and is responsible for the oversight of daily operations of the assigned department including off shift and weekend supervision of nursing and non licensed staff This position manages resources quality improvement payroll creating and maintaining colleague schedules and monitors patient throughput to facilitate efficient clinical operations In addition this position is responsible for a safe and therapeutic unit environment which includes working in the department as staff RN to assist as neededThis position supports leadership in ensuring standards of excellence and professional development are fostered and met This position also participates in and may lead Performance Improvement of acute care nursing experience requiredmiddot At least one year of supervisory experience preferredLicensure Certification Registrationmiddot Registered Nurse State of CTmiddot Certified in Basic Life Support BLS provider credentialed form the American Heart Association AHAmiddot Other certifications may be required by specialtymiddot Certified in specialty areaKnowledge Skills and Ability Requirements middot Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing and healthcare administrationmiddot Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical assessments and institute safe and effective care within the structure of a collaborative health teammiddot Considerable knowledge of requirements by federal state or regulatory bodiesmiddot Demonstrates knowledge of effective workforce
